Brief Bio:

Vellore Srinivasan

C. Srinivasan formed Exnora Green Cross (EGC) in 1995, as an affiliate of Exnora International, with a vision to "bring about socio-economic change through employment generation based on environmental conservation by enlisting people's participation".

At a time when the environment is constantly coming under pressure from growth initiatives and rising populations, Srinivasan has worked on important and highly successful projects such as the restoration and reforestation of barren hills in Vellore and working with the local municipality on Solid Waste Management techniques. He has done this using innovative techniques to garner public support, by working with apathetic local governments and by generating sustainable livelihoods for the people.
